Being a member of different kinds of Facebook groups for SaaS founders including Demio’s Facebook group.

A question that comes in mind is “What tools do you use for…?”

Well, the SaaS people look for tools that help them grow their businesses.

The problem?

If you’re hunting for an easy software that would be in your budget then you’d be lost in an ocean of tools to choose from. A lot of strangers keep popping into my DMs for product hunt which seems to be a bit irritating.

However, to make this easier I will introduce the tools we are using for webinar marketing. A beta version of it was launched in 2016 & since then the marketing stack has not been changed. That is because it helped us to get from 0 to 30,000 leads in almost two years.

But before we get started, there’s something you should know.
If you are not giving the right message to the right people in the right places then webinar marketing software will be useless. However, If you are a member of SaaS then you are most likely to invest energy in finding a well-designed software.

Ask yourself a few questions, before you go all-in on signing up for tools:

  • Do you have a webinar marketing strategy in place & a funnel mapped out?
    • Why is this important? If you do not have a strategy, then you do not know what kinds of tools you need to use.
  • Have you created a customer avatar to understand the problems your prospects are having, where do they           go for help, & the best channels to use to get them to sign up for your webinar?
    • Why is this important? Your customer’s needs should identify the case for your software tools. For instance,            if your basic audience are using Instagram then you might need software that will help you identify & reach              IG influencers, along with social media tools that connect with Instagram.
  • How many people on your team will be running webinars, & how often?
    • Why is this important? A larger team with a powerful webinar strategy uses a full-stack marketing automation        tool, while a smaller team uses to put together a custom stack. This case identifies the level of service you              will need from your software vendors & also, some tools may lead themselves towards collaboration better            than others.

The following automated webinar funnel map is created to make a custom stack of five software products as our company has a distributed team & are focused on one customer segment (Saas marketers).

Here’s what we use:

Lead Generation & Landing Pages

When you have a landing software application, you can choose from a multiple options like:

Leadpages, Instapage, OptimizePress, Thrive Themes, to a variety of others & you will never run out of choices.

How much it costs: Starts at $97/month.

How can you use it: You can design, track, share funnels, collect emails & sell almost anything using the drag-and-drop landing page builder on steroids.

Why we use it: Clickfunnels are easily integrated with a custom domain so you can set up your landing pages, membership site or sale funnels on your own website or a custom domain. They are easy to set up, duplicate & track.

We use the Clickfunnels WordPress plugin to add them to our marketing landing page subdomain for advertising campaigns, lead generation, or promotional campaigns.

We still love using our Demio landing pages, but for something more advanced with more testing, we’ll flip over to our Clickfunnels pages.

What could be better: There are not so many templates to use & the process may take more than usual to load. So, It might be devastating to design & learn all the tools & functions.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM)/Email Marketing

As business is built on relationships so the essence of it is CRM.

Our hearts still belong to the platform from where it began. However, we are highly impressed by DRIP and MarketHero as they both show great automations and flexibility.

What we use:

How much it costs: Starts at $15/month for 500 subscribers.

What can you do with it: You can create autoresponders based on different conditions such as automate & segment your contacts & lists, add notes to contacts, & send targeted messages straight to your customers. Active Campaign is powerfully built in both its automations & its CRM capabilities.

Why do we use it: We have added website specific automations which are based on user behavior on our website using their Website Script. Considering that integrations with our other marketing applications have been a breeze using Zapier (or Demio Automations) & also, their supply is one of the best in the industry.

What could be better: Well, nothing much.
Whereas, we wish we could integrate with Stripe deeper to segment messages based on those customers who need to use Zapier. It would be good to have more design ability in the email editor with an easier way to use the site. We would also love to see a deeper integration with Demio, to have automated drawn up around the webinar process.

Video Marketing

It is important that we use video to sell our products as it is based on a video.

Here’s an interesting fact.

The marketers who use video, grow 49% faster than non-video users.

So, if we were not using a webinar platform, we would still have used a video because it is one of the best forms of content on the planet.

How much it costs: The basic plan is free & the pro plan is $99/month.

What can you do with it: You can use it as a video player on your mobile by embedding videos on your own domain or landing page; customizing the color & settings of the player to meet your design & user needs; & using the turnstile feature to creatively manage your content marketing strategy, including gating content for lead generation.

Why do we use it: Wistia has become the best video marketing platform & whenever we are using anything related to video, we make sure to upload it into Wistia. It is one of our favorite companies with the best hosting plans & plenty of marketing automations, you would not want to host anywhere else. Moreover, they have made it so easy to upload & share marketing & business videos in a secure area.

Webinar Software

To use a reliable & hassle-free software we use our own products to run webinar.

What do we use:

How much it costs: Starts at $49/month or if you pay annually then $34/month.

What can you do with it: We are a little biased so firstly, your customers can join webinars directly from any browser. They will not have to download the software or jump through hoops as less friction means more webinar success.

You can track your webinar performance in real time using audience engagement stats. The auto-recording feature gives you great recordings to download or share.

We make it easier for customers to register, schedule email reminders & deliver the webinar. Nonetheless, the best part is how easy it is to create experiences for people, i.e., segmenting people, creating follow-up sequences & linking with other software.

Why we use it: Mentioned above.

What could be better: I think of these as “upgrades on the way:”

  • Deeper integrations to your daily communication tools like Slack, Intercom, etc.
  • More robust & actionable insights.
  • Smarter custom automations for your campaigns.
  • Using replays in a uniform way for the best attendee experience.

Scarcity Marketing

If you are using an automated webinar to sell your product, the success of your webinar is based on two big factors i.e. a great hook & a sense of urgency.

Moreover, building time-sensitivity into our campaign is an efficient way to make sure that there is a deadline on your offer. Although, there is nothing worse than giving customers a deadline. They can still access the offer the next day, though.

What we use:

How much it costs: Starts at $37/month.

What can you do with it: You can set one deadline for everyone for live webinars or a different deadline for each person depending on when they entered the webinar.

You should create countdown timers which cannot be cheated for your webinar campaigns so when the customers visit your page after an offer expires, they will see that the campaign has ended. In this way, the customers know they have a limited time to get the offer.

Why we use it: The countdown timer can be used in emails, landing pages, Demio & campaigns to track your marketing with a uniform timer. For such campaigns there is no better application to use than Deadline Funnel.

What could be better:

  • Something we can do in the future is a Demio integration
  • Customize the design which suits your brand more

Social Proof

We have always had a major focus on listing recommendations as we know that the power of social proof is to increase sign-ups, & checkout. Moreover, it is important for our opt-in & checkout pages.

What we use:

How much it costs: Starts at $24/month.

What can you do with it: Increase conversions by displaying recent sales & sign-ups live on your website.

Why we use it: Proof displays REAL user info from a webinar sign-up, opt-in form, or purchase. When we find the tool from the Proof team, we know we have a winner. Now, we can list it on our website to increase trust. We make sure to add it in the marketing tool kit.

What could be better: Demio’s webinar room itself will be able to showcase social proof as soon as Proof develops more features. Think about a live campaign with real social proof showing along the way. We have struggled to A/B test our goals & need to review our “Proof Goals” to understand the changes gained from the pixels.

There you have it!

The powerful force behind the growth of our business is simplicity & ease of use of our marketing stack.

In contrary, what has worked for us might not work for you. So, you should discover what your customers need before you settle on your webinar marketing toolkit. Discuss it with your team & keep your customers viewpoints in consideration. As a result, you will never go wrong.

Good luck!
